Tax deduction and credit
As O2 is approved by the Prefecture, you can receive a tax deduction or credit of 50% of the amount spent (with an upper limit between 12,000 and 20,000 euros per year depending upon your family situation; according to current tax law; art. 199 sexdecies of the French General Tax Code).
What does this involve?
If you use personal services in your home (for example for house cleaning, ironing, childcare, elderly care, gardening, etc.), you can receive a tax deduction or tax credit of 50% of the expenses you have incurred during the year (article 199 sexdecies of the French General Tax Code).
Who can benefit?
You can receive the tax deduction or credit if you are a resident for tax purposes in France. This is the case if:
- Your (family) home or main residence is in France, or
- You spend most of the French tax year in France, or
- You have your centre of economic interest in France
The tax credit is offset against the tax owed or takes the form of a partial or total refund if the tax owed is less than the tax credit.
